Running for Councilmember, Santa Monica At Large, in Santa Monica, CA
From Eli Gill's understanding of the incremental cost of regulation and delay, to his belief that property rights extend to property, and rounded out by his assertion that “scarcity isn’t inevitable,” Eli’s support for a vibrant, growing Santa Monica with more residents could not be clearer. We especially cherish his opinion that concerns over building requirements belong in debates over general plans, not in each and every approval process. We also applaud his focus on transparency when it comes to government approval processes and timelines. Eli believes Santa Monica needs more neighbors. We could not agree more, which is why we heartily recommend his candidacy for Santa Monica City Council.
Eli Gill is a candidate for Santa Monica City Council in the November 3, 2026 general election. A business operations manager, he has spent his career in operations and execution in complex, regulated environments. He has lived in Santa Monica for more than 20 years, where he and his wife are raising two children in public schools and rent a rent-controlled apartment. After a fatal collision at 19th and Idaho, he worked with neighbors to win four-way stops there.
