Running for Assemblymember District 12, California Assembly District 12, in California
Marin YIMBY is endorsing Marin County Supervisor Eric Lucan for California State Assembly in District 12! Eric has been a strong advocate for housing during his time on the Board of Supervisors, and we’re especially encouraged by his commitment to advancing policies that will help Marin build more homes, as well as his past work on Marin’s inclusionary zoning ordinance and its HCD-compliant Housing Element. If elected, Eric has also pledged to unlock the financing pipeline for housing and bring back redevelopment agencies through tax increment financing, while also supporting condo defect reform to help reduce the cost of building housing. As Marin Magazine has noted, Eric is “one of the most visible champions of housing projects on the Board of Supervisors” and “a strong advocate for permanent supportive housing for the homeless and other vulnerable populations.”
Eric Lucan, a Democrat, has represented District 5 on the Marin County Board of Supervisors since his election in 2022. He previously served three terms on the Novato City Council (2011 to 2022) and was a Novato Parks and Recreation Commissioner from 2007 to 2011. Before becoming a supervisor he was Chief Marketing Officer for Mike's Bikes in Novato, and earlier a marketing director for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in San Francisco. He holds an MBA from Georgia State University. Born and raised in Marin, he lives there with his wife, Kiley, and their children.
