Running for Mayor, Moraga Mayor, in Moraga, CA
Few mayors are as bold supporters of housing as Mayor Kerry Hillis. Moraga is a very different place to advocate for housing than the western parts of the East Bay. In Moraga, even a townhouse community is considered too dense by some (of course, we disagree). Mayor Hillis has been leading the way, advocating for multifamily housing developments like the one at 348 Park Street. Mayor Hillis did not vote for this housing reluctantly – he understands that we are in a housing crisis and found every way to support the development that he could. We are so grateful for leaders like Mayor Hillis, and we strongly support his election for another four years.
Kerry Hillis is Mayor of Moraga and a member of the Moraga Town Council, elected in 2022, and is running for re-election in the November 3, 2026 election. He served on the Moraga Planning Commission from 2019 to 2022, including as Chair. He is Public Affairs Manager for the Western and Central United States at Alstom and serves on the Board of the Bay Area Council. Earlier he worked in government and community relations for BART, as a transportation policy aide to a Santa Clara County Supervisor, and as a senior legislative aide in the California State Senate. He holds a B.S. in political science from Santa Clara University and a master's in public policy from Johns Hopkins University. He moved to Moraga in 2017.
