About Monica Vanbuskirk
Monica VanBuskirk is a Colorado policy advisor and small business owner who ran in the June 2026 Democratic primary for Colorado House District 9. Born in Belize, she holds a bachelor's degree from Smith College and an MBA from Duke University, and has worked in health policy, including as Chief Policy and Relations Officer at Connect for Health Colorado. She founded Meapta Inc. in 2019 to advocate for bills during Colorado's legislative session and has served as a precinct organizer and finance chair with the Denver Democrats.
