Running for Transit Board District 4, BART Board of Directors District 4, in San Leandro, CA
BART Director Robert Raburn has advocated for literally thousands of units of housing at BART stations in his district. We love his bigger-is-better approach to transit-oriented development. Director Raburn was also instrumental in guiding BART out of the pandemic with his efforts to attract more riders through improved scheduling, transfers, safety and fare gates. We strongly support reelecting Director Raburn for another four years.
Robert Raburn has represented District 4 on the BART Board of Directors since he was first elected on November 2, 2010, and is running for re-election on the November 3, 2026 ballot. The district is an urban core district in Alameda County. He served as Board President in 2018. Before joining the board he chaired Alameda County's Measure B Citizens Watchdog Committee for a decade and led the East Bay Bicycle Coalition from 1992 to 2010. He holds a doctorate from UC Berkeley and taught geography and urban planning at San José State University.
