About Scott Sakakihara
Scott Sakakihara, a Democrat, represents District 4 on the Union City City Council, elected in 2022, and is a former Vice Mayor. He previously served on the Union City Planning Commission, first as an alternate beginning in 2017. He grew up in Union City and attended local public schools, graduated from UC San Diego and Harvard Law School, and is an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He also chairs the board of the Housing Authority of Alameda County.
