YIMBY Volunteers are hosting “Come Have Some Cake and Register to Vote” parties in apartment buildings all over the city between October 2017 – February 2018. The idea is to get a chance to meet your neighbors, introduce them to local political issues and have them register to vote. This is especially important in apartment and condo buildings because these residents often do not get reached by traditional canvassing efforts.

The YIMBY party will create an invite flyer, provide decorations, voter registration forms and a Featured Speaker who works in local politics or government for attendees to meet and ask questions. The host’s job will be to establish the location – your community room, apartment, or workplace, distribute the invites, and provide snacks.
