Bay Area Organizing Director

I moved to San Francisco in 1999 seeking to jump-start my life and career and found an incredible city filled with wonderful, interesting people, surrounded by unbelievable natural beauty. Everyone who wants—or needs—the chance to be their whole self that my adopted home town uniquely offers should have the same opportunity that I did.
Brandon’s first direct exposure to San Francisco housing policy came when he joined the Northwest Bernal Heights Design Review Board in 2008. What he expected to be neighborly discussions about architecture in his neighborhood instead revealed a deep resistance to change, resentment of newcomers, and a planning process designed to maintain the status quo. With a group of neighbors similarly motivated to help solve the city’s growing housing crisis, he helped found District 9 Neighbors For Housing in 2017. Brandon previously served on the SF YIMBY Advisory Board from 2021-2025.
